Roll-Up Report Wednesday 10th January 2018 4BBB

1st Tee was halfway down the fairway to keep us clear of Tree operations.
Dave Mugridge & Barrie Heath...Score 48 Points

42 seniors played in the 4BBB today 12 early birds and 30 late starters, it was played in much milder conditions although still very wet under foot after the rain late yesterday and overnight. There was some very good scoring today I’m sure helped by the better conditions plus the shorter course.

My apologies to the seniors handicap secretary for just beating him to 1st place, I’ll try not to repeat it honest.

There were 15 birdies today paying £0.70p per player again with no one having to play in the January rolling stableford.

Farmer Bob was marking Dave M's card and described his shot to 14th Green ( from forward Tee) as he put a 3-rescue into the middle of the green.

Bertie in form today..pity about his partner
Walking around with Bert today, he was treading very nervously in the slippery mud, after it took him 3 weeks to recover from his slip. He was looking to get Metal spikes fitted to his shoes. I have just re-spiked my shoes with plastic grips and am of the opinion that fresh plastic, with 6 sharp edged protrusions are much better than single metal spikes. The problem comes when we don't bother changing them out regularly. Some of Bert's were a bit  worn and Stuart even had 2 missing. I have all the tooling and they are easy to change out if you need help, even when there is nothing but a flat round surface as Stuart has. Why not check them out tomorrow & either get the Pro Shop to change them for you or ask for help.

 Be honest now
When did you last check yours?
& Clean them regularly when out in current conditions.

& finally a question for you rule gurus.
If Bunkers are GUR. What happens if your ball is outwith the bunker, but your stance has 1 foot in the bunker....do you get relief so you can take a stance clear of the bunker ?
