Wednesday 13th December
Rainy Scramble
On a day that forecast heavy rain all day, just 15 ventured out, but were rewarded with a very playable day, a few showers but very patchy and at least 40% in the dry. No Buggies, but just 2 temporary Greens . There were a couple of Tees that we probably should not have been on, but a bit slippy for the Greenkeepers to get out without further damaging course.
Biggest celebration was at the end, when we found out it was Roger's Birthday and Nobby very kindly offered to accept a drink off of him.
We started off with Blue Skies and 10 Degrees warmer than Monday.
Both early and late groups abandoned the scheduled game as we were not sure how many holes we would be able to play. In the event we played the whole course.
Earlies played a Hassle with no Drives and 1/6th - so we adjusted scores at the end so we could compare.

John Sweet saved the bacon of the Captain's Team by having the only ball in play on the first, his work for the day was done.
Interestingly after 11 holes all 3 Teams were dead level on 45 , after Farmer Bob made a 6 on the 10th, but Frankie birdied the 11th. Trio Franky bogeyed 12 thro 16, whilst John was not so Sweet as his Team bogeyed 12 thro 15. Par scores on 14th & 15th were good enough for Farmer Bob & Team to creep ahead once more and scoop the cash.
Author has been forced to name and shame. Bob & Chris had both played to 11th Green, down the slope and just on when Pearce foolishly declared "This is the last time I'm going to show you this shot".
Chris Gazed into the distance whilst Farmer Bob had fallen to the floor giggling...
as Pearce had taken a might Divot, hit the ground a foot behind the ball and well inside it. The Ball never moved...Oops !
