Stableford Qualifier - 2nd
September 2016
There were 55 entries for the
Stableford today, with nine players scoring 36 points or more to ensure that
this competition was a qualifier. Division 1 was won by Edmundo Paoloni with 39
points. Division 2 was won by Nick George with 40 points thanks to a birdie on
the last hole to ensure victory over the ever reliable Bryan Frost who came in
with 39 points.
There were four 2’s, each
paying £6.60, scored by Mike Banfield, Bob Barrow, Des Denning and George Wallace.
Three scores (Brian Rideout,
Sid Crisp and Gordon Bareham) were
entered into the computer but the cards could not be found by the Scrutineer. Please
make sure that you leave your card at the club for scrutiny. In addition, the
marker should ensure that a handicap is entered on the score card. It should be
impossible to record a Stableford score without a handicap on the card.

There were only two entries for
the August Rolling Stableford, which is a pity as Chris Gingell scored 39
points – the best score in this competition this year. Chris wins £3.00.
There have been complaints
about members wearing metal spikes and cutting up the greens. Whilst the weather
is dry and the ground is relatively hard, please wear soft cleats.
