3 Ball Stableford 30th August 2016

Fourteen teams of 3 contested a team Stableford competition with all three to count. We welcomed Chris Hiam who played in his first rollup with Frank Martin and Maurice Arnold. Had I known that Chris was putting in the first of his three cards, I would have spared him the gaze of  the Handicap Secretary.

Seven teams were within 3 points of each other. Two players who will no doubt catch Frank’s eye are Bryan Frost and Martin Leigh who scored 41 and 40 points respectively.

The disqualified team failed to enter a handicap on one card. It is vital that both the player and the marker check such details when signing the card.

Keith Branchmanager showed a new technique on the 10th by ringing the Bell with his 2nd shot, saving much unnecessary walking.

Poor old Bob Irons was up today ..but didn't last long. As he swung his Club on the 1st, his tadger swung in the opposite direction and dislocated his catheter ..which necessitated a quick trip to A&E for intervention.

Great to see young Victor up there after 2 Months with family & then a bruised hip.

Dickie Hall did his monthly draw again with Nobby winning the Scotch on 73 and Bob the Builder winning the gallon of Cider on 37.

There were 13 birdies paying £1.50 per team. The full results were as follows :

The winners will be cut 2 shots and the runners up 1 shot.

I have written to those teams who have not paid their entry money for next weeks Texas Scramble Open. Please pay Keith Branchflower before next Wednesday. There are currently 51 teams of 3 entered and this will be one less thing for him to be concerned about. (52 now Captain).
See Seniors Open for full Start Times & Handicap Allowances.

Please remember that we need prizes for the raffle. At the July Open, members were particularly generous.
