Challenge Cup Final – 5th August 2016
Apologies to those whose
names were not on the Start list, but I understand that those who did not tick
that they were available were not included on the list. Nevertheless, nine who
qualified for the Cup played and a further 27 played in the Plate competition.
Commiserations to Bob Hollingworth who was Top of the League but unable to play on the re-arranged date.
Congratulations to Danny
Dowell for retaining the Cup. It was a very close run thing as Danny had to
birdie the 18th to win.
..with Billy just Missing out coming Third.

In the plate competition two
of those not on the start list came first and second. The Captain decided to
let the result stand though in other circumstances, he’s sure the scrutineer
would not have let this pass. Well done to Alan Chance who won by two points.
In a separate competition,
Stuart Pope and Andy Beale vied with each other for the day’s trick shot.
Stuart hit a tree and the 17th pin with his tee shot on the 18th,
and Andy hit the bell by the 17th green with his second shot on the
6th.
