Medalford- 19th July 2016
Boy was it hot on the course
today. Not so much the scoring as the temperature. Only 27 members played
today. Was is that Tuesday golf interfered with our member’s social life or
that it promised to be just too hot for golf?
...but Tony still needed his Jiminez warm-up routine in his jazzy new outfit.
In the event, there were 6
teams of 4 playing a Medalford and 3 playing the July Rolling Stableford.
Sleight of hand was needed with the first of the late groups to enable Frank
Martin (playing in the Rolling Stableford) to have playing partners, but although
somewhat confusing, Bill Hilson and Nobby Hodder with the best Stableford score
of the day, partnered Trevor Dobson and James Dick into second place with a net
35.
However, George Wallace and
Brian Denning had the best Medal round with a 65 and together with their
partners, Andy Beale and John Livens
returned a net score of 33 to
take first place.
There were 4 birdies, paying
£3.00 per birdie.
