Roll Up Report Mon 19th Dec 2016

2 from 3 Stableford

Today 42 members played a 2 from 3 Stableford in somewhat Murky conditions. We started in gloomy conditions, as the mist only appeared along the Windwhistle Ridge, however as the day progressed conditions got considerably worse and the later players came home in very foggy  murk. Having said that, one player, namely “The Seniors Handicap Secretary” had a fantastic round of golf and saw Liam on completion of his round to ask for a voluntary Handicap Reduction, having returned 47 Points on his own, out of his team’s  90 points. It must be nice to start your round with a gross 3 on the First hole for 5 points, and it certainly helps towards the team score. His Gross 73 minus 14 h/c gave him a Nett 59. Well Done Frank, we await to see how much the Club handicap secretary will be able to CHOP you within the rules of CONGU. There were 13 Birdies each worth £1.60

See Wallis & Gromit playing with Mike Hone.  Both Bunkers in background can be seen on     18th  Fairway, ,there's no way though & have to chip over...markings at back of 17th green labelled SP are for the planting of Scots Pine Trees.
Mr Wallis was describing Christmas Day at his house. Family arrive 10:30 and exchange gifts & pleasantries. Family depart 12:15. John, Ruth & Dog sit down for quiet Turkey Dinner at 12:30 , asleep by 14:00 and alarm set for Queen's Speech. Glass of sherry in Conservatory to discuss issues arising from the speech and draft and letters required using pre-paid envelopes to SW1A 1AA. Crumpet for Tea, if he's lucky, then out to walk the dog. Toss Poo-Bags over neighbour's fence and back in to listen to saved recordings of 'Hancocks-half-hour'.....and that was Christmas !

Was an amazing turn-around for Frankie. Just hours earlier he was in the Clubhouse bemoaning the fact he never had a single Christmas Card in the Senior's mailbox, whereas more popular members like Ted Bryden had dozens, Nick Hill also has a bunch to be collected by is still abroad 'somewhere very hot'

Just as good as Frankie was Bob Rees who also chipped in on 1st but for a shot or 2 more.

and Gordon has the last word....
