Today was the third round of the Winter League

Gentlemen a little REMINDER

During today's round of the Winter League, there was a rather large hold up on the 13^th Tee, when there were 3 X Fourball teams waiting to Tee off. The reason of this large hold up was because a four ball who were not in the competition had teed off on the first and then preceded to hold up the remainder of the competition behind them.

Can I ask you all to read the Winter League section of the Blog especially item 6 (IN RED ) which explains the Rules for the Competition.

If you are not participating in the Winter League Competition do not expect to tee off during the competition allocated Tee Times. You must arrange your individual Tee time after the winter League has all Teed off.

In future the Pro's Shop will not allow you to start until after the allocated Winter League tee times have all left the first tee.

Your help in this situation is appreciated. Thank You Gentlemen .

The results of today's round three will follow reported by Alan Davis.

Additionally two members played a Rolling Stableford: B.Singleton 34pts. M.Burt 38pts.

On a beautiful fine mild December day members enjoyed the third round of the Winter League. The course was in good shape and the greens were receptive to lofted balls enabling some good scores posted. Three points separated the first five teams. Despite this there were only seven birdies. The best scores were from the early starters as was this round’s winners. Trevor Dobson had a lucky escape on the ninth when his tee shot ended up just a few inches from the pin. Two players were without partners today, Clive Fisk with 36 points and Chris Denman 35. We were also without the Rowland/Hollingworth pairing.

Today’s winners were:-

1^st Withers/Stephens 46points 1 birdie £13

2^nd Stenhouse/Marsh 44 11

3^rd Andrews/Paoloni 44 1 9

4^th Stone/MacOmish 43 6

5^th Leigh/George 43 4

Birdies also for Chance/Evans 1, Bareham/Beale 1, Gingell/Lawrence 1, Heath/Dobson 1, Denman 1. The birdies are worth £1.80 per person.

The next round is on Friday 16^th December. The draw will be on the notice board on Friday and on the blog today.
