Wednesday 30th November
All to count Stableford

Welcome to another new member yesterday , Richard Miller (Gifford Close in Chard) and maybe even Dennis Smith from Crewkerne who is still deciding between Yeovil & Cricket.

4 more names for Ted's Night on 13th December, Bim & Helen with Mike & Grace Light, so they pass 36 but room for more.

Plenty of lovely pictures today in the stunning sunshine as temperature quickly rose from minus 5 to double figures as the last few came in with bare arms....

Today's event was a team event Stableford all three to count. It was much warmer at the level of CST compared with the below freezing temperatures that were experienced at the lower levels of Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne.

This did not deter ten teams pitting their skills not only against the other nine teams but the cold temperatures, and bobbly temporary greens. Again after a few holes the sun came out, which raised the temperature slightly, but made looking for ball flight difficult at times.

Surprisingly some good scores came in considering the conditions, and more birdies were achieved than was to be expected. How can one team get 4 Birdies and come last!!!!!

The Random Card was drawn and scored 36pts ( card No 6 was drawn which was Clive Fisk) and his score was used to make up the team of two players.
..and we started off with the Richard Hall November Raffle, raising another £100 for the Captain ( minus expenses) and resulted in Ted Bryden (29) winning the Litre of Scotch and Alan Davis (73) winning the giant Christmas Pudding. Think about Richard tomorrow as he is off the Bristol Hospital to have a chunk taken off his Kidney.

Is the beam of light an omen !
George Wallace is claiming to be first 'user' of the new bunker and found getting out was a bit of a sod.

Roger was detailed off to feed himself !

Shows frosty start and reason we were on temporaries

Thanks to all those patient Golfers that didn't complain about photographer and b****cks to the one grumpy group that shouted 'Fore' as they were held up for nearly 1.347 Seconds....
