Christmas Cracker - what a day to chose !

Report 28th November

Christmas Cracker 2016
Just in for Publication.

On behalf of all the ladies, I’d like just to reiterate my thanks of yesterday to all the Seniors for a great Christmas Cracker and your wonderful company.

My thanks again to Roger and Alan for such an enjoyable round yesterday, and to John MacOmish and Nick Hill as well as Roger for your support in our shared events throughout this year and 2015. It’s been a pleasure to work with you and to enjoy, alongside you, the benefits of our brilliant club.   Congratulations once more to Hanna, Bob and John - yesterday’s winning team – and thanks to everyone for supporting the raffle so generously.  I know the ladies look forward as much as I do to the Ladies v Seniors in the spring, so see you there!

Very best wishes for Christmas and 2017.

Barbara Wilton

Ladies’ Captain

Christmas Cracker

Today saw the final event for Lady Captain Barbara Wilton,( Barbara has been the Ladies Captain for the past Two years) now it’s time for a well earned break in 5 days time Barbara. Well done for  your supporting role in the  efforts both for the Ladies and in the help you have given, with your ladies to the Seniors for their Opens and other events, and also  during our combined events. Thank you on behalf of all the Seniors.

Today  was the inaugural event of the new Seniors Captain.

After a weekend of Emails and phone calls reorganising the start list, after last minute fall outs, we were very pleased to find the weather turned out well, initially a little chilly however after a couple of holes in the sun, it was a pleasure to play in some glorious November sunshine with minimal wind.

We eventually had 59 players taking part, one no show, to which I have already received his apologies. There was some good golf played especially from Hanna Jacobsen on the 2nd hole when she slotted her second shot into the hole from back along the fairway, for a magnificent TWO and FIVE points which must have gone a long way to help her team win the event.

Thank you all for supporting the Raffle so well, a truly great display of wines, chocolates and biscuits. The grand sum of £228 was raised which will be split between both the Lady Captain's and Senior Captain's Charities. Thank you Ladies for running the Raffle.

Thanks also for Keith our treasurer, although injured with a bad back, he was on hand as usual to scoop up the money, and settle the bills. Thanks also as usual to Bob for checking all the cards.

For those that did not play in the event, I thank you all for starting your rounds on the 6th hole which enabled the revised Shot Gun start to go ahead without hitch. I hope that you still managed to have a pleasant round over reduced holes.

Our next combined event is on Monday 20th March 2017 Ladies vs Seniors.

and Barbara Wilton saying how proud she was that they had 20 Ladies playing today after 2 years as Ladies Captain..which ends in just 5 Days time.
Well organised, right from the very start.

..and last words for Phil Dewar who had a spectacular 2 on the 13th.....well it was a 4 actually but he used 3 shots just getting off the tee as his first went via Jasmine's house but his 3rd just brushed the pin.
