3 ball Hassle - 10th October 2016
For the first time in my
experience, there were more members in the early start than in the late start.
Perhaps it was to welcome Phil Hunt to the “early birds”. The frosty start of
the day did little to deter many of our hardier souls. A special mention should
go to the third place team Crisp/ Irons/Livens. It a while since a podium place
was awarded to a nonagenarian.
I don’t have any stories to
report from today apart from the fact that it is clear that class told in the
end with Danny, Des and Terry winning by
a narrow margin.
There were three 2’s paying
£6.00 per team.

Trevor Dobson and Bert Robinson
played the October Rolling Stableford scoring 36 and 31 points respectively. Trevor
now lies 2nd to Frank Martin who scored 37 points on the 3rd
October.
In todays inter club match we
played Long Sutton and won 3½ - 2½. It’s fair to say that the Long Sutton
Captain made the longest speech ever when giving out the result, but finally
stuttering, he articulated the relevant
numbers. Whilst he was attempting to give the results he was constantly harangued by Mr. Gage, so he said "Let me give you the result of the last group, Forster / Gage - a win for Long Sutton by 6 and 5...and suddenly it was all quiet again.
Nick Hill and Bob

Barrie Heath and Bill Hilson

Mike Hone and Nobby Hodder

Keith Potter and Bryan Frost

We were sorry to hear that Dickie Hall is poorly and will attempt to contact him tomorrow to see what help we can offer.
