ENMORE
STAG INTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
The Enmore
Stag Inter club Championships was played at Enmore Park G.C. on Friday 21st
October 2016.
This was a
second try of the competition which was postponed from August due to inclement
weather.
Fifteen teams
of 8 (4 pairs 4BBB) participated, totalling 120 players, took to the fairways
in really warm and balmy conditions for the month of October.
The CST Team
managed to return a score of 149 points, which was a good score , however as
the full results were not promulgated, we not able to workout where we came
overall.
The winning
team from The Isle of Wedmore scored 166 pts and second scored 165 pts with
third place scoring 164pts.
(Wow - That means all 4 Teams have to score over 40 !!!)
Once again the CST Seniors showed that they could keep up
with the best in the County
The CST Team
results were as follows:

There really was only one
team today. John Pearce was full of praise
about the quality of his partner’s play. He and Bryan Frost ended a
clear 7 points in front the pre match favourites, Norman Markby and John
MacOmish.
There were 2 birdies, each
paying £8.00 per team. Only one birdie was highlighted. Please ensure that
birdies are circled on your scorecard. Retrospective payments will not be made
if the scrutineer misses the score.

Those disqualified failed to
put the scores in the appropriate column, i.e. the person taking the drive. There
was some discussion in the club house afterwards, but this ruling has been
applied throughout the season.
Incredibly, it was not until lone pairing Ian Fielder & Trevor Dobson walked off the 18th that they realised each had assumed the other was filling out a card, so they had not recorded a single number for 3 hours 45 minutes..you would have thought it would have cropped up somewhere in the conversation !
As Captain indicated , got usual comments about Senior's policy of recording 'drives' on scorecard under correct column. How can a scrutineer confirm a Team has played correctly in a Foursomes, where drives must be alternated, if you don't indicate who took the drives on those 6 holes. One of those DQ had beautifully marked who took the drive in his 'marker' column of the 'opponents' card, but when signing his own card, accepted them all in one column.
The usual domestic handicap
cuts apply, two shots for the winners and one shot for the runners up.
The cost of the Annual Dinner
on the 4th November is £18.50 per person. Please make your payment
to Keith Branchflower asap, and not on the night.

Mick Aldridge would like to know who it was that found a stray puppy up there on Wednesday, it belonged to a friend of Mick's who wanted to say thanks.
Beautiful Day up there a Dave & his boys build up 18th Tee so that there is another 2 feer of Top soil to so up the weather.
Picture of Trevor & Ian may make more sense when Captain reports...
Amazed to see Ray Gudge up there playing a few holes with the new lump on his left shoulder controlling his heartbeat...

.
Met Alan Keenan & Phil Hunt on 10th, Alan had carded a great first 6 holes in the 4BBB with 2 Pars and a Birdie on 6th..but then came the 'Shared Ball' with Phil they slipped from Hero to Zero very quickly...
out with 2 visitors speaking in a strange tongue no-one understood...
Tidying up Ted's Night (26th Oct), with most of choices now in and booking for 60 passed to Andy the Head Chef, so if you wish to make any further changes please let Andy or the Clubhouse know. See the 'Social Events' Tab above to ensure you are correctly listed.
Captain is now collecting money for his Dinner on 4th November.
Money for Gala Night is to be paid in Pro Shop. Skip has decided that our tables will be Jacket & Tie / Suit rather than Dinner Jackets as we are not involved in organisation or prizes so will sit in the background and enjoy each others company. Dinner is followed by a Disco, so long flowing Ball Gowns for the Ladies may not be the best option...although you will all be most welcome however you are attired. Still would love a couple more for Gala Dinner on 29th..come & join us.
More Teams still joining Winter League. Pete S-Farr is looking for a Partner as is John Wallis, but can't play on 'No Buggies Days' - Just get your name on the list, partners are always out there and its a fun comp.
