Stableford Qualifier – 15th August 2016

Most members apart from the individual winners of Division 1 and Division 2 found conditions difficult.

The fairways and greens were generally very firm and the course was playing very short.

George thought he was still in the Paras and tried to earn a few extra pennies by doing some advertising...

Good to see ray Wilton up there keeping his Handicap alive.

Sixty members took part in the competition. There were 69 entries on the published draw. Four members advised in advance that they would not play, another five failed to appear. Several members did not return their cards. The Captain and Vice Captain spent several hours after play in an effort to reconcile the entries. All appeals to members to advise the Pro Shop if you will not play appear to fall on deaf ears. All appeals to input your score appear to fall on deaf ears. If this conduct continues, the committee will have no option but to suspend members for a period from competitions if they fail to appear or refuse to input their scores.

It was a Day when all Players had to keep an eye on the ball in play to keep things moving...but some were easily distracted....

The 2’s competitions was most certainly worth entering as 57 members contributed £28.50 and this was added to £70.00 was carried over from previous qualifiers, making the pot worth £98.50. In the event, there were 3 winners, Chris Basterfield, Gordon Hughes and Mike Banfield. They will each receive £32.80.

What a stunning round by Peg-Leg Pete. If he hadn't messed up 6th & 12th with double bogeys, he would have shot a Nett Score of 59..

Please note that payments to your account may take a few more days as the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer are both away. Both will be needed to carry
Chris Blasphemerfield's  £57.50 to the Club Safely !!!

JKP was pleased to see his partner for tomorrow in the Cannington Match managed to come dead last of 60 with an impressive score of ZERO ! - These Navy Physical Training Instructors don't age  well do they !
