3 ball Waltz -
8th July 2016
An audible murmur was heard
in the Sports Bar when the second group of Chance, Dowell and Stone was
announced. Some said give ‘em the money now. Little did they reckon with the
handy 26 extra shots that the winners had in their pocket. The runners up
benefitted with an inward half of 41 compared with the 37 points scored by the
third placed team.
There were 15 birdies, 5
scored by Danny Dowell alone, although special mention must go to John Pearce
for his birdie on the 15th.
John Bonney played in the
July Rolling Stableford – nil return.

The winners will be cut 2
shots and the runners up 1 shot.
Thank you everyone who helped
and participated in Wednesday’s Open. It was a great success and our visitors,
who outnumbered the home players were very impressed. We already have 18
visiting teams of 3 for the Texas Scramble Open in September and expect a few
more. We will make every effort to have a greater number of club members
entering.
Ted Bryden has organised a
“Pie night” for 12th August. These have been very successful in the
past. Please make a note in your diary. There is a notice on the board.
