Welcome to Captain Keith Hunt as a Blog Editor and he has already started work on several pages and posting The Monthly Schedule.
Well, we tried very hard today as we arrived to find the course covered in 100 Acres of Fog - precisely !
The Clubhouse was heaving as Green Fees, The Eggs, The Earlies and The Lates all crowded around the Bar trying to get Matt's attention for a Coffee !
Eventually, at 09:07 Nate appeared and said 'Play' - but to listen out for the Klaxon.
The Eggs had cracked and gone off, so 6 earlies went out first,
followed by 21 Others in 3-balls playing in an Individual Stableford Qualifier ...or so we thought.
So off we went into the Fog, but 100 Metres Visibility allowed us to safely stagger the groups. 20 Yards would have been enough for anyone with more than 2-names as his ball trickled forward about 40 feet.
Now I'd like to say the Sun came out and we had another great day of Golf....but it didn't and we spent an hour in the cold wet low cloud. Play was painfully slow as 9 of us gathered for a chat on the 3rd Tee.
The Siabi Group Teed off around 10:00 and as we walked off the 5th - The Klaxon sounded and it was back into the 19th for a warming Coffee.
Some groups had made it to the 10th - which was a long walk back. It was the correct call by Nate as Fog on the higher ground began to re-form.
Nice to see Geoff & Janice Dean up there for Lunch - Jeff explained that they were celebrating his younger sister's 90th Birthday.
Remember the Blog story 11 Years ago when Geoff did an Abseil from the top of St Mary's Chard - and a few of you thought he had done the 1,115 feet down The St Martin's Shard in London.Managed to dig out the actual picture.
Geoff was also a bell ringer in the Church, so he was able to pull a few strings.
