What a Poser -  One-Over Mark at Stover

A great day was had by all and everyone commented on the new layout at Stover as a fair but challenging track.

Congratulations to Mark Cording who played extremely well at record 37 points, ahead of Dave Asquith on 35 points.

A special mention to James Siabi who organised a very successful day, and most of those who played want to return next year.

Sorry Captain - it is not a Polliwog - but a very imaginative attempt...

Bryan Frost Ashes..

The Chicken Farmer informs us that Son, Mark Frost would like to scatter Bryan's Ashes in trees to right of 6th Fairway on

Wednesday 22nd May - around 08:45..just after Draw.

Hopefully some of us can wander over and pay respects at Roll-Up, as was Bryan's last wish.

The family of Graham Glew have contacted us to let us know that sadly Graham passed away on 2/5/24.

My Dad Graham Glew has sadly passed away, and as My Dad (who had retired as Golf Professional at Taunton and Pickeridge after many years) and had close connections with the then, Windwhistle golf club, I wonder if you would be able to display the following announcement on a suitable notice board at the club to let any members know, who may remember him.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on:
Tuesday 21st May at 12:40hrs
At Taunton Crematorium
And any members who remember Graham, are very welcome to attend.
No black please, Family flowers only.
Donations in memory of Graham (if desired) for St Margaret’s Hospice, may be given on the day or through E White & Son Funeral Director, Taunton.

GLEW Graham Eric 19th August 1935 - 2nd May 2024

A much loved Dad, Grandad, and Great Grandad, sadly missed by his family and friends. Reunited with beloved wife Phyllis.

I've tried Hedgehog, Adder, Water-Rat, Dormouse - but not even close yet..

Is it an illusion or is new post on a slant ?

JKP Poser

Captain says it is a Bullhead Fish

Many of you will know that I look after a secret 'nature reserve' in the middle of Tatworth and have created a Pond on a flowing stream. In there Sunday with my waders , clearing plants to enlarge surface area.  When mud settled, got a pic of this 4 inch long 'fish' on the bottom - not sure what it is called.. Lots of other little shrimps and creature bobbing around....then something really strange happened ..and if you can tell me what I'll hand Clive a Bullseye for the Captain's Charity.  I was standing there in 3 feet of water when something swam towards me, on or just under the surface. It navigated around me and disappeared into the plants. Too quick to get a picture.

What was it ?- any guesses

Lots coming in, but all wrong.

Not a Beaver, Otter, Rat, Vole, Grass Snake, Fish, Dog, Cat, Deer, Hedgehog, Adder, Polliwog

,,but first Clue - It had 4-Legs.

Clue 2 - It is an Aquatic Creature

next one tomorrow.
