Bernie was ready for it...
Monday 7th November
First Day of Winter Rules and probably first day of Winter as freezing wind was head on for most of the front 9, or so it seems....
But a beautiful Autumn day if that is not a contradiction...
as Norman, Bert & Alan strode down the 11th.
Few disgruntled people turned up to play, ignoring all the warnings about there being no slots until 09:45 due to Winter League taking priority !
Captain Reports:-
Four (Happy) members played in the
November Rolling Stableford.
Mick Aldridge - 27 points
Mike Hone - 23 points
Brian Anderson - 23 points
Reflecting the very tricky conditions early on.
Harry Potter & Geoff Dean took on John Wallis and Ron Sutherland in Matchplay and lost 8 & 7..only for Wallis to rub it in and score a net zero on 13th by getting a 2 and having a 2 shot allowance...Ronnie never swore for 3 hours 47 Minutes. Had they been in the Winter League they would now be leading with a 44 point haul, what a waste !
..goodness me, how did that picture get in here !!!
