Clearly members are getting out on the course before the weather closes in and today there were 48 playing a 4 ball better ball. Unfortunately, the greens were undergoing autumn maintenance and all holes had temporary greens. This did not prevent 16 birdies from being scored with 25% coming from the Stone/Basterfield combination.
They could not match their
outward half of 25 points when coming in and fell back to third place. Second
were Barrie Heath and James Dick who also failed to match their outward form
when coming in. In first place were George Wallace and John Bloys who
complemented each other well and were very consistent on both halves of the
course. Perhaps it was JB’s trousers tucked into his socks, tut tut.

The result of the September
Rolling Stableford was a win for Andy Beale with 39 points winning £14.00. In
second place was Ron Sutherland with 35 points winning £7.00.
Please look again at the start lists for the Cyder Cup
as I have had to make some changes to both pairings and in some cases start
times.

.Honest Dickie did the September draw for the 100 Tickets sold. First number was 30, where Brian Anderson won the basket of wines. 2nd was 64 and Ronnie Sutherland who won the luxury biscuit selection.
Had to capture this moment at the start as I heard Phil and Pete chatting...
Nobby's new hairstyle is playing havoc with intercontinental communications...
Temporary on 12th was a bit hairy / tufty but some had other problems...
..and I've been dared to mention Danny's Drive on 14th, which didn't even make the fir tree !
More abuse on 10th, where partner Mo allowed him to putt-out 'to get his name on the card'...
