2 from 3 Yellow Ball – 10th August 2016
Do you know how to win this
format? Just make sure that your high handicap partner birdies the 1st and
2nd and scores 26 points with the yellow ball. Simple as that!!
Winning for the second time
in two outings with the Seniors, Stewart Seery was drawn with Vice Captain,
Roger Stone and the ever reliable Maurice Arnold. This team very nearly lost
the yellow ball on the first, Roger driving dangerously close to the hedge on
the right by the corner. Nevertheless, Roger scored 22 points with the yellow
and Maurice scored 18 points.
Hot on their heels was Keith
Potter’s team, despite Keith’s wagon malfunctioning on the course. This team
made a valiant attempt to catch the winners by scoring 17 points on the last
two holes. Also worthy of special mention is Ted Bryden who played the last 6
holes with the yellow and forced his team back into the reckoning with 26
points.
It has been decided that from
now on, once the yellow ball is lost or goes out of bounds, it can no longer be
used, even if it is subsequently found. The rules will be updated on the web
site.
There were 12 birdies worth
£1.35 each per team.
